I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I have come to Eileen's daycare for more than 6 years bringing both my children to her. She has also watched many of my friends children as well. She does more for families than a home daycare and facility put together does. She has an amazing routine and schedule in addition to teaching my children and preparing them for kindergarten. She is a natural teacher. My oldest child is in the top of his 2nd grade class today. I cannot thank her enough. She also works with parents schedules and accomodates families more than she needs to. She treats our children with love and care and keeps a clean home and safe environment. She has the amount of experience that is very hard to find and her caring and generous nature would be tough to match. She understands especially what it's like to be a mom and the need to leave your children in the care of someone because she is a wonderful and loving mom herself. She is truly amazing.

We Love Miss Eileen. We have a very energetic 4 year old that has gone to "school" with Miss Eileen for over a year. She is wonderful and very nurturing. Our daughter is always coming home with art projects, letter tracings and singing news songs. She also tells us that she wants to be Miss Eileen when she grows up. She was also very helpful with potty training. My daughter is very descriptive when she describes her day and never has anything bad or worrisome to say. Thank you Miss Eileen!!! MaryL Dec 28, 2015 I have used this provider for more than 6 months Although my daughter is no longer with Miss Eileen, she certainly deserves a 5 star review. She started going to her at 11 weeks through 18 months and I felt secure knowing she was in excellent care. Eileen treats the children with love and care. She also keeps a clean home and safe environment. My daughter enjoyed her time with her and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to put their child in her care.

Eileen was a miracle for my family. I do not have the words to even begin to define how profoundly our lives were changed once we found her. I was a first time mom, with little to no experience dealing with a true daycare provider. My poor son had bounced around from babysitter to babysitter, and we knew that he needed stability, we just didn't even know where to start. I found Eileen here, and knew, the second she called me and I heard her voice, that she was it. She loves these kids, and it shows. She does special projects with them, and takes them on "field trips", and has completely transformed her house to accommodate these babies. Because of her ability to work with each child as they progress, my son was able to skip preschool, as he has FAR surpassed the standard teachings of a traditional preschool. He is spelling words, and has been reading, and he has even learned sign language, which I consider an amazing accomplishment for barely 4. As far as newcomers, THIS is THE place. Simply stated.....she's amazing.

I have used this provider for less than 6 months

Not happy. Always listen to your gut.
Aug 12, 2016 by Lorena
I was very disappointed in the way she cared for my infant son. I decided to hire Miss Eileen to care for my son, since my sister had her two daughters with her at the time. I went back to work once my 12 weeks were up, shortly after my husband and I started noticing things that were not okay, such as, we would always send 8 diapers, she would only change him twice. (In a 9-10hr day) Any parent knows they need to be changed more frequently, which caused him rashes. We also noticed when he was being picked up (by daddy or grandma) his clothes or bib was soaked. (I packed 3 changes of clothes, 3 clean bibs) This made us very nervous but we had no choice, since I had to work and we did not have anyone else to care for my son. Shortly after, everything continuing, his car seat smelled like sweat, as if he was sitting in it all day. Once again, we let it go. At 6 months, my son started eating cereal; I would pack some cereal and began with food (prepared at home) and when it was time for him to come home, the cereal and food I packed, returned untouched. This was an issue; I did not want my son to drink formula all day. I tried very politely to remind her on various occasions, that 1) he had a rash cream made by me because he has sensitive skin. 2) I mentioned he was eating a lot at home and I would really like for him to eat while at day care. However, this issue continued.

Finally, on July 2, 2016 It was a Thursday. She only babysat Mon-Wednesday, he was with family Thursdays and Fridays, well that Thursday, family was not able to watch him, so he did. That day was the only (also his last) day I was able to pick him up. I work an hour away, and I purposely told her I would be 15mins later, then normal time because it was brought to my attention by my husband and mother in law, that he was always ready in his car seat. My concern at that point was that he would sit there until we picked him up (not knowing how long that was)
Once I arrived, which was faster than I had thought because it was a holiday weekend so there was no traffic, I arrived in 45 minutes, versus 1hour plus the “15 minutes” that I said I would be late (Which I lied) I get to the front door and I can hear my son crying, I wait a minute to see if I hear her try to comfort him, or hear anything. After hearing that he kept crying and no one answered to him, I knocked, it took her at least 5 minutes (if not more) to open the door. At that point my heart dropped. Once she opened the door, I greeted her politely and saw that my son was by the front door, in his carseat, with his bags, ready to go. BUT… I was waaay early. I had all sorts of mixed emotions; millions of things crossed my mind, one being how many times has she done this?! I was still polite and tried very hard to not let my anger show. I walk over to my son and I hear someone knocking on her office doors. (An office next to the front door with glass doors) A little girl was locked in there, she said Miss Eileen, can I come out now?
Seeing that, was enough for me to decide he would never return. During this whole time, Miss Eileen has a frightened, shocked look in her face, and anxiously laughed and said, “she is in time out because she did not want to nap” Mind you, nap time is from 1-3pm, it was 4:45ish pm. How long was she in there? Who knows?
I was not okay with seeing my son left alone, and a little girl locked in an office, while Miss Eileen was in a completely different room with the other toddlers. I spoke to my sister and once they had a day care (about 2-3 weeks later) they decided to not take the girls with Miss Eileen. I believe if you cannot give a child the proper care they deserve, don’t take on any more responsibilities. I prefer to pay more but know that my son is receiving the proper care. Since the incident, I had no choice but to give my work place a two week notice, in that mean time, I had friends/family help with my little boy.
Needless to say, I reported the situation, as a parent I would want to know If this happened in the facility where I drop my kids off.
I hope this helps any parent if you are unsure. I should’ve gone with my gut feeling since day 1.

I read the other review that was left on here, and it's unfortunate that she didn't call Eileen and further explain her scenario, because as far as daycare is concerned, I truly believe that everyone else is substandard to Ms. Lyons' in almost every capacity. If you truly are no longer going to be a teacher, I would strongly suggest that you remove that from your profile, as it will be hard to find in home care otherwise. This is a business, and unfortunately, summers off is frowned upon in the home daycare industry because there is then a lack of income to accommodate someone else. I wish you luck. As far as newcomers, THIS is THE place. Simply stated.....she's amazing.
