What an awesome place for my kids to be while I'm at work! Honestly now- it sucks having to go back to work after being off 12 weeks with your new baby... Then wondering how they are in another's care all day... Especially with your first one. So we went and toured Harmony (unannounced) with our first son and were instantly pleased with what we saw. To this day they not only teach the kids fundamentals to prep them for school (and in a fun way)... But they have fun playing games, doing crafts, making awesome art projects for mom and dad (I love the photos, journals, and the handprint stuff for keepsakes), they have occasional field trips, guest presenters (the reptile man, the fireman, etc)... Structured routines include outside time, meals (provided), and naps. My kids get a lot out of it. Aside from the fun and education I also appreciate that this place is owner operated and I have come to know Diane better over the years and never have I doubted her attention to detail and care for the kids. She really loves kids, and she is constantly trying to improve or add what she can to make Harmony a wonderful and safe environment. She always maintains the caregiver:child ratios which may I add in some rooms are above the state's requirement. For peace of mind she even had a camera system installed (not accessible online for privacy purposes but any parent is welcome to watch what's up with their child if there are any questions). I've never had to watch it, but it's nice coming in to get my kids and I can see their room on camera and they manage to get my 16 month old sitting in a circle clapping his hands and singing (never this calm at home).
Oh yeah they even have an annual Christmas concert at the Rec center that the kids spend time practicing for - very emotional attending the first one of these... Thinking this is the first of many times you'll be watching their Christmas shows at school, etc.
Well we have had both of our boys smoothly transitioned to Harmony Over the past few years. We are going on the fourth year now and have continued to be pleased with the care, compassion, social, and educational experiences that our kids obtain at Harmony... I really would recommend this place for anyone, they do a great job.
Harmony is an awesome daycare/preschool. The teachers are caring and creative, and they do a lot of wonderful activities and really promote a love of reading. The only negative is that when my 4 year old naps there, she doesn't want to go to sleep at her usual bedtime at home. (They have a daily nap time).
