Description: Good Samaritan Hospital Child Care Center is located across the street from the Shatto parking garage on the corner of Shatto and Valencia. The center provides full day care for children ages 3 months to 5 years old for hospital employees and others who work or live in the area. Our hours of operation are from 6:15 a. m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Our staff is experienced, educated in child development and trained in first aid and CPR. They are dedicated to giving nurturing and excellent care while providing age appropriate activities which fosters the emotional, physical, social and cognitive development of each individual child. Our infant program caters to each child’s individual needs throughout the day in a loving, responsive environment. The children get ample opportunity to play inside and outside in the safe setting which will encourage age appropriate development. Our infant program is for children 3 to 18 months. The toddler program provides a stable routine which helps the toddlers develop a sense of autonomy and independence. Activities that encourage language and social development are initiated that include art, reading, singing, dancing and plenty of outside play. The toddler program is for children 18 to 30 months. Our preschool program prepares the children for kindergarten, where the curriculum stimulates and challenges the children with age appropriate activities. While free playtime is encouraged, a teacher directed time is implemented into the daily routine where language, literacy, science, math and art are introduced. The preschool age is divided into different developmental age groups from two and a half years to five years old. Our priority is to provide child care for hospital employees first, however we do accept families from the community if space is available For more information about tuition rates, availability or general questions, please contact the Child Care Center Director, Cindy Andrews, at candrews@goodsam.org or call at 213-977-2355.
