I was going to give Esteem Me a 3 star rating, but that would just be too generous. The Montessori name and the track out camp description "Invention Convention" were the two things that attracted my family to this program, and after reading the program description was thrilled to enroll my kids for a week of learning and fun. They are HUGE into Legos and Goldie Blocks and anything that involves building and creating. But after finding a Groupon for $49 for a week's tuition, I learned too late that you get what you pay for. The "program" consists in large majority of "free play" or "centers available." There is minimal focused activity, minimal oversight by the minimal staff (1 adult, 1 adolescent for 20-24 kids ranging in age from toddlers who make up the majority of the group to my daughter who is 7 1/2), and minimal effort put into anything educational or "invention" oriented. This is likely a great place for small children (1 yr-3 or maybe 4) if you're looking for drop-in care, but this is in no way a full service track out camp and DEFINITELY not suited to anyone over the age of 4. The staff does not address ongoing behavior issues with children who are unable to keep their hands to themselves, but that being said, the young kid they have in there for the large majority of the day doesn't have the maturity or authority or experience to properly know HOW to handle a problem child and there are simply too many kids and too few staff. On the first day, one of my children fell and hit her head on the ground and my oldest child had to inform me after I noticed a bump. My youngest child (her 1st experience at a track out camp) was having a tough time and asked to call me and was told that they didn't have my number. What? Really? Aside from the absurd theory that they didn't have my number in their files (since they also have my driver's license number, insurance information, etc.) I packed an index card in both kids' bags with work/cell/home numbers for both me AND my husband. All they had to do was pick up the phone. They did not. Overall to say that this was a disappointing experience is a startling understatement. We will not be going back or recommending this program and will heed others to stay away and do further research into ANY Montessori program before making a decision based on the reputation of the name. Now if I could only snap my fingers and be able to find someone to watch them for the next two days so we don't have to go back.
