Description: Welcome to Plumas Christian Co-Pilots’ Preschool! I am so glad to have you on board. Our philosophy is to provide each and every child with a loving and nurturing environment in which each child can grow and mature. Children will grow spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. We also hope to provide an environment where each child is respected for the individual God created him/her to be. Co-Pilots’ Preschool is a place where children feel comfortable, safe, and return each day eager to learn. Each child is encouraged to develop according to their readiness.
Our desire is for each child to experience new and challenging things throughout the year. Curriculum guidelines are provided by Saxon’s Prekindergarten program. We, of course, expand as much as possible (e.g. while learning about classifying animals we will have live animals in the classroom, and have a “pet share day” so students can classify one another’s pets) on the themes provided throughout the curriculum. Our method of preschool education is to allow children to learn through a balance between guided education (e.g. quiet circle times – listening and thought development) alongside experience oriented education/play based education (e.g. we become scientists who create hypotheses, and then test out our theories in the “science lab”). We hope through these experiences they will have the opportunity to discover a true relationship with Jesus Christ, while building self-confidence in themselves, and those around them.
