Just stumbling on some of these negative reviews and I have had such a different experience. I have had the advantage of working there and also being a parent of an enrolled child. I had a great experience working at the Tarrytown location. They were very flexible in my schedule and the director would always listen to our needs and help any way she could. As for my child, she was well taken care of and was ready for kindergarten when the time came. All I can say is go and take a tour and make your own decision. Everyone has their own experiences. Mine was great! And I wouldn't hesitate going back if I ever moved back to the area.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, especially if your baby is 6-12 months old! My daughter started her full-time daycare at Children's Corner Center in Tarrytown when she was few months old in the summer of 2015. Infant Room A (up to 6 months) was not bad – caring staff, timely feeding and diaper change. All good ended when my daughter got transferred to Infant Room B (6-12 months). Caregivers couldn’t care less (I often heard them talking about low pay and discussing other job opportunities). Crying kids left in their cribs or sitting in a jumperoo or similar was my regular observation. No outside activities (maybe, a few min ride once per month in front of the building if it is warm). "Oh, one more? I am tired" is what I heard few times bringing my daughter in the morning. Two caregivers per 8 children in the group? Maybe in the morning, but rarely in the evening. Over 50% of the time, my daughter ended up in a different room (mostly Infant A) by the end of a day or was sent there in the morning upon arrival. What new can actively cruising, 9-months baby possibly learn being placed in the room with newborns filled with toy appropriated for that age? Nothing.
After being transferred to the Infant Room B, my baby all suddenly stopped eating, bringing back full bottles of milk. Once, I found her with a cold(!) bottle in her hands crying of hunger (there was a specific instruction to feed her warm milk only)! After my complaint, all next daily reports stated that she finished ALL food I provided! It was a real “miracle”, especially considering that I usually gave more than she can possibly eat!
Children in this group are ALWAYS sick. Each day, I saw 1-2 babies coughing badly and with runny nose. We ended up visiting pediatrician each 2-3 week with a fewer due to cold or viral infection. Despite daycare policy, nobody had ever asked me to provide a letter from pediatrician that my daughter is allowed to be back to the room. The only thing they can do, they call you when your baby has 100.1 F or (they noticed it, maybe, 1 out of 3 times).
We survived there about 6 months and was very happy finally to leave this place. Also, you will work hard on getting your deposit back. It took me 2.5 months to get it. Don't try to contact daycare in Tarrytown! They will tell you to wait 4 weeks, then 6, then 2 months… Call (800) 879-4528 as soon as you drop the daycare. After leaving a message, I got a call back next day stating that no refund paperwork had been ever submitted on my name. They processed it within the next day and I got my check delivered in 5 days.

The directors there are not up to par with anything that's going on within their daycare. From my experience having my child attend and the amount of of money I pay , I was really disturbed when an employee expressed her feelings to me about their pay rate. I was deeply concerned after she mentioned she was getting paid 8.50 and some employees are lucky enough to get even 9.00 . There's no new books , no new toys or equipment ,and the meals are horrible , where is our thousands of dollars going towards? On top of all my concerns it seems very unprofessional , teachers on their cell phones, teachers quoting left to right , front desk area there's no work being done but laughter and play, their even on their phones. The directors seems very clueless to what's going on. They are desirable during the tour to get you comfortable and pull you in , but once your child is in officially, you began to regret it. Save your money please .

I encourage you NOT to send your children here. The setting is VERY unprofessional. They have children all over the place. No structure,No lessons being taught. Children in Pre-k don't know how to write their names. Classrooms are filthy. Inappropriate dressing from the assistant director to the staff. A open display of staff hitting each other's behind and kissing each other. Your child will not learn anything for the price you are paying. The food is always cold and your child will starve all day. The assistant director sleeps through out the day as well as coming in smelling like herbs. They will lie to you and tell you your child is okay when they are probably crying all day. They always forget to lock up the center so anyone can come in and harm your children. The staff fight and argue all day in front of the children don't trust them with your children you will regret it. Save yourself the headache and money by not sending your child to this unprofessional daycare

For security purpose i will not disclose any personal information or names. This facility is highly unprofessional. The directors are unethical. They never know what to do in any situation. It is honestly sad to see that one of these directors witholds a position with nothing but a highschool diploma and still manages to keep this position while others with a high edcucation level puts forth 10x the work. When employees ask for help or advice on a child they do not know what to do. The state must re-evaluate this facility for the proper care of these kids.

not educated teachers Dec 28, 2015
I have used this provider for more than 6 months

I have been sending my son here since he was 6 months. As older he gets the teachers get worse. Lack of knowledge with how to handle children and their behaviors. These teachers are not educated enough to be working at a daycare center. The teachers change quite alot. My son has had 3 different teachers within the past 2 months. They all end up quitting because they themselves do not get their needs out of this place. Whatever reason it is . It is.poorly foundationed. Please research and take a day with a tour before starting to decide whats besst for your child. Many times they use vulgar language.

One star is being too kind. These "teachers" are literally out of high school and could care less about their jobs. They yell at the toddlers, call them names, and ignore them. I can't tell you how many many times I've seen them texting and on their cell phones while children are crying and getting into things. My child is 21 months old and she's been neglected. I have seriously considered reporting this "daycare" to the proper authorities as I have witnessed people's children being verbally abused and even left behind to walk by themselves when they made their teachers mad. Trust me, I am getting my daughter out of here as soon as I can. My friend who used to work here advised me not to send my daughter here and I went against her advise. She was right and I was wrong. My daughter hasn't learned anything new since she's been there and she's almost 2. They don't go over the ABCs or numbers. It's just free play all day. I pay too much money for my child not to learn anything. I'm not necessarily concerned for the children that can speak and tell their parents if something happened. I'm concerned for the children that can't.

For anyone who is currently enrolled at any Children's Corner Learning Centers...if you paid a deposit upon starting, you will have a VERY difficult time getting it refunded. You will get the run around until you are almost ready to just give up. It took us over 6 months to get our money back. In the course of our battle...here is the elusive "corporate" contact info: Center Management Associates, Inc. DBA Children's Corner Learning Centers 660 White Plains Road, Suite 125 Tarrytown, NY 10591 The president's name is Anthony Ross. Here it is, start holding Mr. Ross to his policies. Good luck!

I found this site accidentally while looking for the children's corner website and I can not believe that 1 star review. I have a three year old enrolled at the school and our experience thus far has been the exact opposite. She is always coming back home with arts and crafts projects and I hear about story time every day. I'm rather perturbed by her experience of seeing the employees screaming at the children --I highly doubt it, at least from my experience there.

To each their own, but I definitely will be sending my next child here!

My Son has attended Children's Corner since he was 2 yrs. old. He was one of the first enrolled. I admit there have been a few changes in teachers and administrators; However, my son has grown so much here. He gets plenty of outdoor time on nice days and his teachers range in age and ethnic background, giving him the experience of diversity that is needed at a young age.

He is shown affection and care that I have always witnessed. Even when he is a hand full, his actions are age appropriately addressed. My son has learned so much during circle time in the mornings and enjoys the art projects done in the classroom. All of the children's art projects are displayed in their rooms and eventually brought home to share with their families.

Children's Corner has unknowingly prepared my son for the Independent Schools in our NY area and his teachers support the key learnings an ideals I hold valiable as a parent. My son has gwon to be articulate, loves books and I encourage working parents to take advantage of this affordable Daycare.

Learning and Love all begins in your home and is supported by the young teachers who care for our children everyday!

This facility does not even deserve 1 star.My daughter was going to start, so I asked if we could do a trial. She spent one day there by herself and one day there with me. I spent an entire day in this facility and can say from experience that I would not recommend any person to step inside. For one, the teachers (with 1-2 exceptions from what I saw) are barely out of high school and spend their day screaming at the children. The children do not do any productive art projects, probably because the "classrooms" are not supplied with any materials. The children did not go outside, despite the fact that it was a beautiful day. Even if they did, there was only a dinky little playground that even looked too small for a 4 year old. My child refused to eat because she said the food was disgusting and cold, and when she rolled over on her mat (3 hour naptime), the "teacher" screamed at her, made her cry, and sent her to the infant room as punishment.

As a parent, I would never send my child to this center. The children could not possibly be ready for elementary school, seeing as I did not see one story read to the children. I cannot believe this place even exists!

I sent my child to a group-family daycare and it worked out so much better-a real curriculum, lots of outdoor space and a healthy meal plan. Good luck to all of those fellow mothers looking for a safe place to send your little one for the day!
