Hello, and thank you for your interest in A Step Ahead. Here at A Step Ahead it is literally our job to play. We invite you and your family to join us in our licensed in home childcare. We currently have 3 full time openings for an infant or a few preschool aged children. At this time we are also accepting part time, before/after school care, and drop-ins.
A little information on us:
As an Early Achievers participant we use the CLASS System to encourage our children to think around, inside, and play with the proverbial box. Our curriculum is based on experiences through play and guiding our children to think critically about the world around them. This means we move, get messy, and make some mistakes. At least once a month we make a field trip off site to some where new and challenging. We also partner with the USDA food program and provide 75-80% organic foods for kids.
Christa has a BA in Social Sciences focusing in sociology of communities/families, and developmental anthropology from WSU. This brings a unique approach to creating rich and complex learning environments. Josh's background includes certification personal trainer and group fitness instructor. This gives him experience in nutrition and early motor patterning. Together we create an active, creative, and thoroughly unique environment.
