Description: Building Block School is a state licensed preschool/kindergarten center. Our teachers are all qualified professionals and our classrooms are setup with modern equipment and supplies to provide a special environment for children. Each program is designed to meet the needs of the individual child. We respect the fact that not all children are ready for the same things at the same time. The individuality of each child is valued and respected. Early Childhood education is much more than academics. A balance needs to be maintained so that physical, emotional, and social growth is achieved. Children at Building Block School are encouraged to participate, experiment and discover. They learn, play and explore nature in our wonderful outdoor playground and schoolyard which includes a sledding and climbing hill, playground equipment, sand and snow toys, an open mowed field for running and games, and a school garden with active bird feeders. Learning at Building Block School is hands-on. It is achieved through the excitement of exploring, discovering, experimenting, and thorough enjoyment of unique activities. We vibrantly use the arts and many different forms of media along with the joy of learning about great artists and musicians. Learning is also enhanced by nature study, science, music, literature, 'math their way' and 'count on math' programs in addition to a whole combination of language and phonics.
