Boston’s Bridge to Excellence, Inc. (BBTE, Inc.) is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization that is licensed through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. The mission of Boston’s Bridge to Excellence, Inc. is to provide enrichment programming that empowers youth from economically distressed areas to become leaders of change in their communities. We help youth in grades K through 8 to build academic skills, develop leadership skills, and engage in experiential and service-learning opportunities so they have the tools needed to reach their full potential in a global society. This year our curriculum has been enhanced to bridge innovation with creativity. Programs include, Creative Arts, “Lego Lane” Engineering, Science, “Cooking Not Looking” Classes, Yoga, Acting, Voice Lessons, Field Trips and More. We have a maximum capacity of 75 children. I have worked for this company and my daughter used to attend the program. We truly miss the staff and how hard they work. Children are treated as if they are the only ones there. The staff work hard with the academics and STEM activities as well as fun interactive activities. The children enjoy coming and cry when parents come to pick them up. Mr. and Ms. Rice are very accessible by phone, email, and in person. I will be sending my child back to this program every Summer! Thank you Boston's Bridge To Excellence for everything that you have done for my family!
If I could give negative stars I would! Yoga? Art? Cooking classes? You they kidding? My children attending this program as a summer camp and it has been the terrible! Never on schedule, missing field trips and the children are forced out of the school every day to play in the heat while the administrators (Mr. And Mrs. Rice) disapear! The staff hadn't been paid by August, and as many as 3 staff members were "layed off" later in the summer leaving the 3 remaining teachers to care for 45-50 children! This can't be legal! How does a program charge its staff to attend field trips? How do you call a program "STEM" when the children are outside at the park for 5 hours a day! No nurse on sight with asthmatic children in attendance and staff doesn't have access to the building in case of emergency! Don't let me get started on the breakfast and lunch situation! Absolutely no regard for the health, welfare or educational advancement of out children! The administration is faulty, money hungry and completely power obsessed!
