I have toured this provider's facility, but have not used its services
I live near the location of this daycare and have witnessed the lack of supervision Barb provides to the children in her care. The elemetary children spend their days outside unacompanied, roaming the grounds of the complex with each other. I see no interaction of Barb with these children. There is lack of safety & security as a child could easily be injured or abducted. Unfortunately the world we live in does not allow for children to roam without supervision. I would not leave my child at this daycare. If the attraction is her fee, the question should be what is your child's safety worth? Don't let her bubbly personality fool you. She is a con artist.
Lots of red flags and dishonesty with this childcare provider. I’m writing this review for other mothers because I know how scary and stressful it can be to find trusted care for our babies. We interviewed with Barb and brought a list of questions where she answered them all with flying colors! We left thinking “Wow! Is this too good to be true?!” We found out later it was. My initial red flag was she would say one thing, but I would find out later that her actions didn’t line up with her words. She said she had a very structured and organized schedule throughout the day involving arts and crafts, story time, learning, etc. I was never sent home with an arts and crafts project, nor did I ever see any art and crafts supplies, or books out. I also saw very limited toys and essentials for my daughter’s age and ended up bringing my own. In the interview, and again before we turned in our contract I asked if she had those things (bumbo, jumper, exersaucer) and she said she did, but they were in ‘storage’. I was constantly asking her to get them out of storage once we started, and she eventually said she couldn’t find them. That’s when I brought my own. That wasn’t a problem at all, but it was concerning that she promised she had those things, but really didn’t.
The decision to leave for me was when my daughter could have been seriously injured. One of my favorite things about Barb during our interview process was her passion about safety. When we talked about nap time, she explained to me that all babies in her care are only allowed to sleep on completely flat, firm surfaces with absolutely no pillows or blankets. She said even if parents wanted their babies to sleep with blankets, she won’t allow it at her daycare. I respected that, and thought good for you for taking safety so seriously. Well, that was all talk. Again, Barb said she had pack n plays for all her babies to sleep in, however I went to go pick up early one day, and found my daughter in her bedroom, with the door closed, and her sleeping on a high bed! Not only that, but she had rolled all the way to the top of the bed, and was under the pillows!!! My heart stopped! Not only could she have rolled off the bed, and had serious injuries for her super young age, and the height of the bed, but she also could have suffocated under the heavy king sized pillows and throw pillows! Barb said another girl was having trouble napping, so she put that girl in the pack n play, and my daughter got the bed. Again… she said her extra pack n plays were in “storage”. The next day we brought our own pack n play and had another talk with Barb about our concerns. She was very apologetic and seemed sincere. But, I couldn’t get over the dishonesty and lies even though she has such a fun, bubbly personality, and promised it was a one time thing. My “mom gut” said no more. I told Barb we would be moving to a new daycare. She took the news well, and I was glad we were leaving on good terms, I just knew it wasn’t the right fit. But, the cherry on top that confirmed all my suspicions: We had already paid for the last week while we waited for our new day care to open. Barb mysterious had a terrible eye infection. She sent me daily text letting me know daycare was closed and elaborate details about how painful and contagious this infection was. I first I felt bad for her, but then I decided to do a drive by that week since it seemed a little sketchy. I saw parents dropping off their kids and picking them up! I was in such disbelief! I text another mom who confirmed that she didn’t know what I was talking about with this “eye infection” and she had been taking her child there all week. The amount of work this women puts into her lies is mind blowing. Parents beware. I do believe she cares about children and has a great personality, but she is a compulsive liar.
