Let’s start here, My son went to melody for care (afternoon sometimes & fridays every once in awhile) and did great with him going there. I got pregnant & let her know right away so we could get a spot with her, with the shortage of daycare in silver bay, it was comforting to know we had already had a spot for our infant. I had asked her every month or so confirming the spot, each time she said yes. I went back to work and melody started to watch my baby. Almost right away she would make excuses like she isn’t available because she’s out of town (multiple times a week, last minute) hmmm... or I would give her my schedule & she would say “I’ll see what I’m available.” Many times she’d cancel last minute for the whole week! This went on for about two months. Then, she messaged me and said because of “scheduling” and kids potty training & going outside, she couldn’t watch my daughter any days of the week except Fridays. Um okay. Inconsistent & inconvenient..... turns out she was taking on more kids that were “easier” then my infant so she couldn’t take her. Anyways, The Friday that she was suppose to watch her, shocker! She told me she couldn’t. Then proceeded to tell me she can’t watch her at all anymore. I would not send an infant to her again. She is dependable with after school care and with kids that are completely independent. I wouldn’t send any other kids to her. This isn’t the first time this has happen, either. Other family’s have had similar issues. Beware, or if you go to her, be ready for last minute cancellations.
Horribly unreliable care. Literally has canceled last minute more days than has given care. Explore any other option possible before being let down by this daycare.
