I have been with Diane since the inception of her day care and have had an excellent experience with her. I was in the process of changing daycares when I stumbled on to her and was very anxious about how my kids (3 of them at the time) would transition. My middle child does not take to new people easily and initially had a hard time. Diane was very patient and loving with her and now my child can't wait to go there. She even asks for Diane at night before going to sleep!
I am a VERY involved parent and am constantly inquiring about my childrens daily experience and well being. Diane and Sumaira (her assistant and daughter), always give me a full report about the days activities and answer all additional questions I have freely.
Upon our initial phone conversation and face to face consultation I had a great feeling about her. She has an open communication policy and has always enforced it. She has a great space in her basement that looks like a preschool room for the kids to learn, play and rest. The rest of her home is very clean and homey. I usually spend 15-20 minutes "picking up my kids" because we discuss their day and often make small talk.
She has taken about 6 vacation days off since we started in June and only takes major holidays. I felt her time off was very reasonable compared to other daycares in the area. There was always PLENTY of advanced notice about when these days would be and she provided reminder notices the day before her SCHEDULED day off.
I take referring another family for daycare very seriously. That is my reputation and the care of their child(ren) on the line. I have referred her to another family (who are very happy with her) and would do it again.
I truly believe it takes a special person to want to take care of kids all day. Diane is one of those special people and I feel truly lucky to have her as a partner in my children's development.
Diane and Sumaira are excellent caregivers! My son is ALWAYS well taken care of while in their care, I never have to worry about a thing. The communication is excellent and they gladly will provide any type of special care instructions your child may need. My son has reflux and requires some extra care with his feedings; they have been so GREAT with all of this! It is unfortunate that Gina has put a bad review on here -- bad mouthing Diane and Sumaira when I personally know the circumstances and the facts surrounding the incident. False accusations will of course get you dismissed from a care provider. No one will continue to care for a child when the parent is late on payment constantly as if they can pay when they want to and makes false accusations. Clearly it is not the childcare provider who is the problem, it is the person SEEKING the childcare that is the issue, considering she has gone through several childcare/nanny providers. And the last week's payment WAS REFUNDED minus the one day of care and the late payment fees (as stated in contract) which had not been previously charged out of kindness. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these two child care providers over any, any day!! It was extremely hard for me to be away from my infant son and these two women made the transition easier in knowing he was safe and being cared for just as if I was caring for him myself!
I just read the review from Gina…UNBELIEVABLE…....I am a mom who has her children with Ms. Diane and believe me she is wonderful…..I have and would recommend her daycare to my friends and family….I guess you can't please everyone…..But for me Ms. Diane and her daughter are amazing…..
Avoid this daycare if at all possible. They will play nice at first but you will soon realize that something is off. If you dare ask any questions about your child you will be met with defiance, an indignant attitude, and she will likely tell you that the daycare is closed the next day to punish you for questioning her (while keeping your money of course). In the approximately 2 months at this daycare, Diane closed the daycare 6 times (not including holidays)each time leaving us to find our own care. It cost me $50/day extra each week that she closed (this added up to about $150/month). Even the sub started wondering what the heck was up. She will make agreements with you, then lie about it later so be sure to document everything. She took our money for the last week of daycare then told us not to return our son to the daycare and refused to refund us for the remainder of the week after only watching him one day. Beware, she will try to use the contract against you whenever possible, but break the terms when convenient for herself. She will bad-mouth other caretakers that you use when she's off, out of fear that you might leave her for them. Bottom line is that Diane et-al will expect you as a parent to drop off your kid (when they're open of course) and ask no questions. She will badmouth you if you even hint at leaving and will make up lies about why the contract ended. Also, remember that to sever the contract with her, you must provide her a 1 months notice, but she will make that time hell in the hopes that you pay her without her having to watch your child. We were relieved to finally be done with her and her begrudful daughter.
Love love love this provider Mrs. Diane and her asst Sumaira are wonderful...very loving and caring my children can't wait to go in the morming...I would definitely recommend them...
