About the Provider

Description: First Step Children's Center has been providing integrated childcare for over 20 years in the East Bay. We have caring and qualified staff that is trained to provide Individualized Activity Based Curriculum for each child. Using an interactive approach, the plan addresses language, cognitive motor skills, gross motor skills, social-emotional needs and self-help skills.

Our goal is to increase the quality of life and to enable each child to learn and develop to his or her maximum potential. By totally integrating children with special needs and non-disabled children, our emphasis is to promote the development of a non-biased value system.

Children are encouraged to participate in crafts, cooking projects, story time and basic living skills such as feeding, toileting and appropriate peer interaction. Child initiated activities are also encouraged to provide the opportunity for your child to make choices, decisions and build on leadership skills.

First Step Children's Center feels it is important to provide quality daycare services that work within the families principles. In providing a comprehensive program for your child, not only are the development needs of the child considered, but also the cultural, linguitics, and family dynamics. We care what parents want for their children, therefore we feel working as a partnership is beneficial.

My son used to go to the Program but in octobre je got engered three times one in his arm the second got a Brocken arm after that got hurt in his eye while he was sliding with the Brocken arm and he wasn't supposed to be in the playground with that Brocken arm and the stuff were there they keepet saying they were watching him . I don't anderstand how he could get hurt all the time if you are watching him and doing your job right . It's supposed to be a safe place for those special needs kids but it's not
