Description: The All Saints’ Day School program focuses on the whole child: his/her physical, social, emotional, and cognitive being. It reflects our belief that children learn best by being actively involved in their environments. We know that learning takes place when children can question, explore, and share information and ideas; trying new activities in a safe, risk-free environment. As educators, we acknowledge that children are individuals and that each learns and interacts at his/her own pace. We understand that play is the work of children. Play provides children with many learning opportunities included, but not limited to: cooperation, sharing, problem-solving, communication / language and vocabulary development, and basic reading, math, and science concepts. As their teachers, it is our responsibility to guide them in this learning process by asking open-ended questions, conversing with them, and providing them with new and varied experiences. Our philosophy promotes learning and provides children with a solid foundation of skills on which to build their future “houses of knowledge.â€
