Every parent to should be aware of this warning before considering bringing your child(ren) to Ages and Stages. At first meeting with the owner and seeing the facility made me excited to bring my kids to this daycare. But within a month I started to have doubts and within three months my pediatrician recommended I remove my kids from the facility and find another daycare. During this time I found the owner,
Regina, to be very flustered with any situation and argumentative. My children had been in the same daycare since they were each 6 weeks old. We changed daycares due to needing before/after school child care in our school district and rising cost of prior daycare. My four year old son did not take to the change in daycares well at all and Regina did not take well to a child struggling. During this time my son also had a string of unfortunate incidents occur (broken arm and knocked out a tooth) which escalated his bad behavior. Instead of Regina recognizing this, she threw her hands up at the situation. Asking me a few times, "What do you expect us to do with your son?" During the course of one week, Regina sent my son home twice and I talked with my pediatrician three times. The end result was my pediatrician questioning everything the daycare was doing and taking their info. The last straw was requiring a doctor's note for a soft snack substitute I provided for a loose tooth that was causing pain and recommending a behavior specialist for my son. My pediatrician did not think my son needed a behavior specialist like Regina was suggesting. She was more concerned the daycare was not understanding of what a four year was going through. He had just gone through some traumatic experiencing and still recovering from
them. And none, absolutely none of these behaviors were occurring outside this daycare. Which then begged the question, what is occurring at the daycare to bring these bad behaviors out? In taking my pediatrician's
advice I gave Regina our notice for leaving her daycare. In response that day she told me not to bring my children to her daycare again. Not very professional in my opinion. She showed she was not wanting to work with a child or parents for a smooth transition. And with how she spoke at me, the parent, numerous times during our time there, I can only imagine how she conducted herself with the children. As a note, since our change in daycares my son's behavior and all around spirit has drastically changed for the better. He is happy going to school again and with professionals who truly seem to care. The bad behaviors have not occurred. I am now just sorry for whatever happened to my son at Ages and Stages, it breaks my heart just thinking about it.
I wish I could give this facility zero stars. My children attended the center for a year and cried every single day I dropped them off there. The “teacher” Suzanne was always there when we arrived and it was like pulling teeth to get a hello. Regina, the owner, was just as impersonal. My children told me daily how mean the staff was especially Regina and Suzanne. My children said they would ignore the children only to engage in conversations amongst themselves. And they told me any interaction they did have with the children was “mean”. The daycare has an Xbox but kids are only allowed to play 5 minutes each! That’s ridiculous. I couldn’t pull my kids fast enough. And after my children got outta there, they still say they fell so bad for their friends that still have to go to Ages and Stages. Just because a daycare is a Keystone Center 2 stars doesn’t make them a good daycare. This place lacks compassion and understanding which is far superior than a pretty facility. Oh and my kids always said the place smelled so bad after school. Write this one off! Unfortunately there aren’t many choices in the area which is the only reason Regina has been successful.
I can't express enough how much we love sending our 2 children(8 months and 2 1/2 yrs) to Ages and Stages. The staff is always helpful and happy to see my children. The infant teacher is very attentive and my toddler loves going to see his friends every day. We are excited for him to move on to the preschool program. Also, the owner was very helpful while my toddler went through a tough adjustment period with the new baby. She offered many suggestions to help him cope with the changes. He now enjoys knowing his sister is close by. Ages and Stages really has made it easier, knowing my children are well cared for when I am at work. We couldn't be happier.
This is not a place you would want to send your child. It very unprofessional. I'm appalled to say the least.
Our daughter has been cared for at this daycare since she was 5 months old. We absolutely love it! She is now a thriving 2 1/2 year old who loves going to see her friends and teachers. We are happy with all the activities she does while she is there and are amazed by how much she has learned. We couldn't ask for better caregivers for our little girl.
My son has been enrolled at Ages and Stages since March of 2014 and we are extremely please with the facility in every aspect. My son loves going every morning and is thriving in the environment with the other children and staff. They are extremely accommodating with his dietary restrictions as well as my travel schedule. I would highly recommend them!
