I have used this provider for more than 6 months

We started out loving it there but beginning this year things started to change. The majority of the staff is really nice and its obvious the kids love them. But then there was a primary teacher there who constantly got in disagreements with other staff members in front of the kids. Her daughter was a total brat and bullied other kids and even though it was brought to their attention multiple times, nothing was done. Even the teachers themselves complained about it to the parents and other staff members. When my complaints finally got to the pastor (which wasn't until my kids started trying to defend themselves) he pulled them into his office and gave them a bible verse to memorize and told them all to play nice. Seriously? This girl caused my son to fall and hit his head on a table, pulled a chair out from under my daughter and busted her chin, and told my other daughter that she hated her and she was ugly. On one occasion when I complained, I was told she had just gotten a new baby sister and she was jealous and was acting out. She was 10 years old. The billing was constantly getting messed up and instead of trying to talk like an adult and resolve the issue, the pastor used his superiority complex and constantly tried to strong arm people into doing what he wanted. He even went as far as calling me and screaming at me (which I'll admit, only caused me to scream back) over an outstanding invoice that I didn't even owe. When I told him I was on my way there, he left and made his staff deal with the issue instead of facing me to discuss it like a man. I hope to God he doesnt treat his congregation with the same lack of grace. His daughter is the director (in name only). Instead of making decisions and actually running the place, her answer to everything is always, "I'll have to run it by the pastor and get back to you". But I have never even seen the dictator there and the kids say they don't see him very often. I was told they would be helped with their homework and snow packets but they never did. They didn't have computers so there was no way for them to help with NTI work. My kids came home starving most evenings and when I asked what their snack was, they would say a hand full of goldfish crackers or cheerios and a cup of juice. That may be an acceptable snack for a toddler, but not a 10 year old. With what we were paying they couldn't even manage a piece of fruit or half a sandwich? There were never enough teachers in the after school room. One teacher to 15+ kids is not at all acceptable. Especially when these kids range in age from 6 to 12 all crammed in one room.
I've heard a couple of the teachers comment that they won't get any help in the room. Once, the teacher couldn't even leave the classroom to go get my kid a bandaid when he scraped his knee because there was no other teacher in the classroom. I can't attest to the standard of care in the younger rooms because my kids are all school age. I do know that they let the older kids help out with the babies and toddlers. If you had asked me before January, I would have given this place at least 4 stars, if not 5. Now, I have withdrawn my children and would not recommend it as a dog kennel.
