I am a former employee from vanguard academy in norton commons. After the latest incident at vanguard I chose to break my contract and stop working there. I had been there less than a month. As employee from there the 2 other teachers I worked with were great. And the kids were smart and fun and it made being a teacher a lot easier and fun to do. As far as working with the administration and desk staff that was another story. they aren't very helpful. And every time I clock out for lunch they are on their phones. Some of the afternoon teachers that come in sit on their phone instead of watching the children and being observant. Their policy about cell phones is that they are not allowed to be used while on duty and at the same time i see teachers on their phones quite often. As far as cleaning the classrooms they push the teachers to clock out as soon as possible and that meant I wasnt always able to finish cleaning like i would like too. And some things I was not able to get done. If you are looking for good quality care for your child I would look somewhere else. Since they have had 30 reported incidents since 2012 that should be a tell tale sign that this is not the place one should place their child. There are other more reputable good quality preschools in the area.
