Are you compassionate, enthusiastic about preschoolers, creative and have a desire to instill the Christian faith in children? Little Esko Lutheran Preschool, a faith-based, school-year preschool for children ages 3-5 years, is currently seeking an Extended Care Teacher to join our classroom this September. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and has a passion for preparing children for kindergarten.
Our school offers extended care for children enrolled in the preschool. Extended care is available from noon - 4:30 p.m. daily, but is flexible depending upon enrollment. Generally we have 4-6 children daily in extended care each month. The Extended Care Teacher works alone in the preschool classroom, which is located in St. Matthews Lutheran Church. We use the Creative Curriculum, as well as a teacher-created faith curriculum. Our school also is applying for a rating through the state’s Parent Aware program, which will provide access to staff for free and low-cost continuing education.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
--Manage individualized and quality care of children in a preschool setting
--Plan and implement curriculum as designated by the Director
--Respond to crisis or emergency situations that may occur, including administration of First Aid or CPR
--Provide a welcoming environment that encourages parent interaction
