Hannah's Ohana Daycare

Hannah's Ohana Daycare

Honolulu, HI 96822 | (808) 278-5622

About Hannah’s Ohana Daycare  Aloha! My name is Hannah, and I am the owner and founder of Hannah’s Ohana Daycare, LLC. In January 2024, I will be opening the doors of my beautiful Manoa home to provide full-time care for a group of 5 children (6 including my own son), from the ages of 18 months up to 6 years old. As a lifelong caregiver who is passionate about working with children, my goal is to create a safe and nurturing home daycare environment. At my daycare, I will foster growth and learning through a variety of educational and creative activities. I believe that children thrive in an atmosphere that combines both structure and play, and I plan to build a daily routine that is exciting and engaging for children at all stages of development. I will also encourage teamwork, and help the children develop important social and emotional skills that will benefit them later in life.  Maintaining a low child-to-caregiver ratio will allow me to give personalized attention to each child in my care, to make sure their unique needs and interests are met. I will plan activities suitable for their individual skill levels – everything from basic letters/colors/shapes to math, science, and literature! Above all else, my daycare will prioritize safety protocols to ensure that my home is a secure, comfortable place for children to grow and play.  Last but not least, I will be providing a nutritional diet* with healthy meals and wholesome snacks to support the vitality and well-being of the children in my care. I believe that the early childhood experience plays a crucial role in shaping a child’s future, and I am committed to providing an exciting and enriching experience for every child in my daycare! (*Nutritional standards will be in accordance with the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program, or CACFP.) Vision, Origin & Mission My business is founded upon the vision of offering working parents in Honolulu a reliable and trustworthy childcare solution. As a parent myself, I know the stress, challenges and concerns that come with finding a high-quality daycare. With my passion for caring for children, my enthusiasm for creating an exciting and educational early childhood experience, and my desire to make a positive impact on the lives of children in my community, I decided to establish Hannah's Ohana Daycare. My mission will be to provide parents with peace of mind, knowing that their children are in a safe and loving (and fun!) environment while they are at work or engaged with their busy lives. Background Experience With my extensive background of 20+ years in childcare, I am a highly-qualified and trustworthy daycare provider.  My experience caring for children began at a young age, as a member of a large family where I was always surrounded by younger family members. In my twenties, alongside my career in theater and non-profit arts organizations, I became a professional nanny and caretaker. My expertise ranges from caring for newborns, to supervising groups of toddlers, to running households for children in elementary school and high school. I also have experience teaching and directing children's theater. I understand and can relate to children in all stages of development! As a teacher and educator, I am additionally qualified with my B.A. in English from Williams College, a top liberal arts school in the country. My strong educational background, along with my professional creative and artistic experience, allows me to contribute richly and creatively to a young child's learning environment. Licenses & Certifications I am certified in First Aid/CPR, as well as Food Safety/Handling.  I am currently in the process of obtaining my official state child care license, and within the next two months, I expect to be a fully-licensed Family Child Care Home in the state of Hawaii. Beyond state licensing, my goal is to pursue certifications in both Montessori and Early Childhood Education in the next few years. Communication I believe that maintaining open communication between parents and the provider is essential. I encourage parents to freely communicate their needs, preferences, and concerns regarding their child. I aim to build and maintain total trust in all of my parent relationships! Daily photos of your child’s activities will be shared with you through a convenient platform (text, email, or social media), and daily reports on your child’s status and progress will be provided at the end of each day. You may feel free to reach out to me during non-daycare hours with any questions, comments, or concerns, and I will do my best to make myself available to you as needed! Hours of Operation Hannah's Ohana Daycare will be open from 7am to 6pm daily, Monday through Friday. There will be a holiday and vacation schedule TBD. Information & Inquiries For more information or to inquire about applications, visit www.hannahsohana.com and go to the CONTACT page!
