8/15/22: They only fed my 11 month old baby 4 ounces of breast milk and some snacks during a 10 hour period. He is supposed to have 12 ounces during this time period and pureed food, which I provided all of. He did not have a wet diaper from 330pm that day until 7am the next because he was so dehydrated.
8/16/22: My baby was only fed 1 ounce of breastmilk during a 10 hour period. When I brought him home he was starving and dehydrated. He ate (breastmilk) the rest of the night trying to recoup from what he missed during the day.
When brought to their attention they said the baby didn't want to eat. No one alerted me or the director this was going on until I questioned it at pick up. When asked how they feed him they said they prop him on a boppy pillow and hand him the bottle. He is typically nursed by me while at home and bottle fed when in the care of others. He needs assistance while eating; it wasn't that he was refusing the bottles, he just needed help. Our previous daycare and our babysitters have minimal issues getting him to eat and get him to take all the bottles while in their care; Teddy Bear seems like a decent facility for older children but the infant room is chaotic and poorly managed.
I requested a refund since I was supplying food, diapers, wipes, etc... all I expected was for them to take care and feed my child while he was there. They didn't do that in the 8 days he was there so I wanted a refund, the owner refused and hung up on me.
On his daily reports multiple times they would go over 4 hours before changing his diapers and there was never a day when they fed him more than 6 ounces of breastmilk in the 8 days he was there.
I tried to express my feelings and instead of listening the owner argued and hung up on me because I said they neglected my child and I was requesting a refund; which not feeding a baby properly and not changing them enough is neglect. I should have vetted them more before sending my child there but our previous daycare (where we never had any issues) had to unexpectedly close and I was rushed to make a decision....now I see why they were one of the only facilities in town that had available spots.
I should also note that the young girl in the infant room is a real piece of work. She essentially bullied/shamed me into having my child start eating more solid foods before the advisement of my doctor. When I explained this she still made me highlight the foods I thought we ok on their menu. So I highlighted the fruits and vegetable as long as they were chopped very small. She continued to make me feel pressured my insisting he wanted crackers like the other babies. I provided plenty of nutritional snack options for her to give him, my kid was just hungry and he wanted to be fed. She just went with whatever was easiest for her. She has her own baby in the room and I can guarantee you that baby never went a whole day without the proper nutrition and care.
I am so disappointed with their lack of care and then the way the owner treated me on the phone. I strongly recommend you look elsewhere if you have a baby or young toddler.
The staff is very kind and has low turnover. My son loves it there. My only area of dissatisfaction is the food - too many sweets, too little fiber.
