Description: Welcome to Salem Lutheran Children Center’s web site. We have been serving the Jarrettsville area and the surrounding communities for over twenty years with quality day care and Maryland State Department of Education approved three- and four-year-old preschool programs. We are located on Norrisville Rd.(Route 23) across the road from Jarrettsville Elementary School. Salem Lutheran Children Center (SLCC) is an outreach ministry of Salem Lutheran Church, and is licensed and approved by the Maryland State Department of Education as a non-public preschool.
Where possible, ChildcareCenter provides inspection reports as a service to families. This information is deemed reliable, but is not guaranteed. We encourage families to contact the daycare provider directly with any questions or concerns, as the provider may have already addressed some or all issues. Reports can also be verified with your local daycare licensing office.

Once again, kudos to SLCC! After the state mandated spring and summer hiatus from teaching, returning to fall preschool classes amid all the covid chaos was a bit intimidating. But not as soon as I set foot in the building and was welcomed back with "socailly distanced" open arms! I so appreciate the way in which the office personnel (Cherie & Brenda) made me feel as comfortably normal as possible and I'm quite awestruck at how they manhandle (or should I say womanhandle?) anything the state throws at them in the way of new requirements to run a small, private childcare business. It is not an easy task instituting a slew of new safety restrictions(limited class size, constant sanitizing, new social interaction postures...) while keeping everyone happy at the same time! Whew! Kudos gals! And thank you for making us all feel safe and genuinely appreciated for the work we do. I have every confidence I speak for the entire staff. It's great to be back!
