Description: Spiritual Development
As your child develops mentally, physically, spiritually, socially and emotionally, we are committed to providing biblically based, age-appropriate experiences to allow each child to progress in these areas as his/her own level of ability while enjoying feelings of success.
Communication
We want your experience at Mon-Aetna CEC to be a friendly one. Phones are available for parent/teacher communication if needed during the day. Our open-door policy encourages parents to come by and visit their child anytime. Parents receive frequent reports, explaining activities such as curriculum, meals times, nap times and each child’s continued progress. Two Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled annually for our 3 and 4 yr olds to mark progress and identify opportunities for improvements. Weekly lesson plans, monthly newsletters and our Facebook page (Mon-Aetna CEC) also keep everyone up to date.
Accredited Program
We choose to offer the BEST! Since 2003, Mon-Aetna CEC is Union's only 'quality care' program in the state-run Advocates for Better Childcare (ABC). This means better trained teachers, better learning environments and better quality care for your child. The CEC is also in compliance as a licensed facility through DSS and the State Fire Marshall, and Level III (Exemplary) on the SC Church Weekday Education Evaluation Guide.
Our Infants through Two yr. olds Classrooms follow guidelines set forth by the South Carolina Program for Infant/Toddler Care (SCPITC) and we are Union's only Child Development Education Pilot Program (CDEPP) center, offering free full-day 4 yr. old kindergarten to qualifying participants.
Safety and Security
From our buses to the classrooms, we provide ultimate child safety and security. Staff are easily identified by their staff uniforms and photo ID’s. Entry to the facility requires a proxy card and cameras monitor all classrooms and entrances. Background checks are performed on all staff and volunteers.
Age Appropriate Classrooms
Your child can grow with other children who are at the same developmental stage. Separating children by advancing milestones allows for a safer and more organized, efficient classroom and, thus, a better learning environment. This is done primarily through hands-on activities in learning centers and positive Christ-like role modeling of our staff. You’ll find our classrooms to be clean, orderly and comfortable for each child so he or she feels at home when he or she is at school.
Facility Advantages
Our new facility offers larger and brighter classrooms, easy access to an indoor play space, child size amenities and room to grow!
Highly Trained Teachers
Our 3 and 4K teachers have earned Associale or Baccalaureate degrees and our Infant, Toddler and Two's have earned their Early Childhood Credentials, qualifying them to be lead teachers in our facility. Additionally, all are trained annually on blood borne pathogens to OSHA standards and many are certified in CPR and first aid. All teachers log at least 15 continuing education hours annually-equipping them with up to date knowledge and information to best serve your child.
Grow Healthy Program
Mon-Aetna CEC was a pilot site for this now-implemented state program that provides guidelines for healthy living. Through this program, children are offered meals and snacks that are low in fat and sugar and high in nutritional value. Children are also educated on healthy lifestyle choices, given exercise guidance and allocated outdoor playtime each day.
