Happy mama May 01, 2015

We are very happy with the care we are receiving at this center. After having a bad experience elsewhere I can clearly see the difference between a well-run and a poorly-run center. It starts with the top and Janet, the director, is great. She is careful in who she hires and makes sure staff keep up on their training. Each room has a full-time lead teacher who has several part-time assistants. The child is able to bond with primary caregivers but also gets to spend time with different staff on any given day. It is a good balance. The facility is well kept, cheerfully decorated, and the gym is spacious for playing in winter or on rainy days. There are also two nice playgrounds for different ages. The center is away from main roads and there is a lot of lawn and open space to enjoy when they go for walks. Rates are reasonable and they work with you to meet the child's needs and parents' preferences. There are one or two staff members I am less enthusiastic about than the others (just based on personalities) but that is natural, and I trust all of them to care for my child. The areas I feel could be improved on are communication with the parents about what is going on in the classroom and what the child is learning, and end of day supervision when everyone is in the gym and older children are competing for the attention of staff which may lead to less careful attention to younger children. But overall we are very happy with this child care center and plan to stay there for a very long time!
