Great staff kids well attended to and cared for highly recommend five star Christy is an awesome admin
My child grew so much in the time he attend LOLP. He learned his ABC’s, 123’s and extended on the mannerisms we teach at home. He was always safe and his needs were always met. We love LOLP and always recommend them when asked!
Not only has this daycare charged me for a full week for the week the hurricane hit, even though there was a mandatory evacuation. But, they are also without an outside play area. According to the owner there is a loophole with temporary, post emergency child care facilities. But, they have stated that this is their NEW location. Not a temporary one. Plus, their rules state that if the lunch I send is not balanced, I get charged extra. Yet, this morning they were feeding the kids Poptarts for breakfast. Which, is processed crap that my children do not normally eat. And, they told us parents they were being kind enough to cater lunch this week. Turns out, it was McDonald's today. Again, not a balanced meal. They still have not told me if they expect to be paid for the week of the 17th-21st or the week of the 24th-28th. Both weeks they were not operating. And, for part of that, people were still evacuated. My children and I were. Today, they kicked my children out. They said it was because "obviously my children are not happy with their services". So now, I have no childcare. I had decided yesterday I was going to search for a better one. But, now I am backed into a corner. That is on top of already charging full days for children who are only there half the day. My 4 year old does Head Start usually. But, they have been closed for repairs too. So, this week she has been there full time. But, the first week, and only full week they had in September (Sept 4th-Sept 7th) she was part time. And they also charge for a full week even if it is a 4 day week due to a holiday. But, I am not sure if that is illegal or not. And, that doesn't even cover the lack of patience and customer service skills. But, neither of those are illegal either, unfortunately.
My daughter has been with Christy since she was three years old. I have had nothing but positive experiences with this day care. My child grew by leaps and bounds and had a wonderful early learning experience. She was more than ready for kindergarten due to her experiences with Christy. I strongly disagree with the comment that Christy is rude and unprofessionl. I have always been treated with respect by all staff members at her day care center. I would recommend this child care center to anyone, as I have experienced other day care providers with my first child .
I would like to respond to the review that was posted on 05/30/2016. I can tell you that I have been working with children for 16 years. I have worked with mentally challenged children as well as typical children. I was licensed in my home 2014, when the childcare consultant came out on the first visit. I was the 4th person in Carteret County to be licensed that quickly. I am the first person to be licensed in a center. On the childcare consultants 1st licensing visit. I can tell you that I am not perfect but being unprofessional and rude is not me at all. When there is a concern that needs to be addressed it is addressed right away. The children that I have here at Land of Little People are my 1st and foremost my first priority. We have small group time everyday that works on the fundamentals of public school curriculum. For my Teachers, we do have a parent information board that is posted in every classroom that has our schedules and our lesson plans. When a childcare consultant comes to our center is the first thing she will look for. The "play" that you speak about is how your child learns. Play is the most important thing for your child to do. "Play" is essential to development because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well-being of children and youth. Please feel free to come by our center at anytime. Thank you for taking the time to read my response.
Christy is the most unprofessional business owner I've ever met. If you approach her with a concern about your child, she's rude and will blow you off. Unless you stand your ground, she'll attempt to talk down to you and totally blow off you're attempt to speak with her about whatever concern you have. In addition to the owners poor attitude, the only thing these "teachers" do all day is watch your child play, there is no lesson plan or instruction readying your child for a public school curriculum.
