Description: The Hudson Afterschool Program (ASP) is provides services from 2:45 – 5:45 Monday through Friday. The Hudson City School District is the lead agency for the federally funded 21st Century Grant. Mental Health Association is the lead agency for the state funded Advantage Afterschool Grant through the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). ASP started out in a classroom with 6 employees and over the years has expanded to all 4 schools and now has over 70 employees.
In 2013, the program was very proud to be one of 125 districts in New York State to be funded by the 21st Century Grant out over 450 applicants. The ASP is now known as the Hudson Bluehawk Nation Afterschool Program (HBN ASP) and has expanded to grades K - 12.
