Description: Head Start is a federally funded preschool and family development program for low income children age three to five and their families. Head Start’s educational program is designed to meet the individual needs of each child. Children attend the program three hours a day Monday through Friday. The curriculum follows both the Head Start Child Outcomes Framework as well as the Illinois Learning Standards. Families are encouraged to participate in a variety of program activities throughout the year.
