Saint John Catholic School, as a mission of Ss. Francis and John Catholic Parish, provides Pre-school through 8th grade, Catholic education to assist parishioners in fulfilling their duty to educate children in the Catholic faith, and to form children of all denominations with strong Christian values in an exceptional academic environment.
Our educational program is based on Kentucky’s Learning Goals, Academic Expectations, Program of Studies and the Core Content for Assessment. We will continue to challenge students to be actively engaged and to want to learn every day. In addition, we believe that children that love to learn will achieve their goals more consistently than those who just attend school. At Anne Mason we know that children should be held accountable for their learning and we will expect them to know the following: • What are you learning? • Why is it important? • Is your work good? • How do you know your work is good enough? When children can answer these questions, then we know that students understand the concept and the value of what they are being taught.

The Children's Montessori School of Georgetown educates students by following the Montessori Method. This method was created by Maria Montessori, first female physician of Italy, in the early 1900s. Montessori observed that young children learn most efficiently through concrete experiences with the world around them. She noticed that they passed through “sensitive periods†during which they learned almost effortlessly. The Montessori Method capitalizes on these sensitive periods by presenting children with individualized learning experiences that both intrigue and challenge them.

The philosophy of the Georgetown Child Development Center is the belief that all children should have the opportunity to grow, learn, and develop to their fullest potential. We recognize and accept each child as a unique individual with their own strengths and weaknesses and having their own rate of growth and development. We intend that this include children with disabilities to the extent that our staff and physical facility can meet their needs. Every child grows and develops physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially. A child grows physically through active participation in motor activities; develops intellectually (becomes a thinker) through problem solving experiences; develops emotionally and socially by becoming aware of their own feelings and those of others while interacting with peers and adults

I think everyone understands the meaning of Southern Hospitality. So, when thinking of Invitational Education, all one has to do is keep this southern expression in the back of their mind. Invitational Education (IE) in its truest sense is the positive caring feeling you get when you enter a school. It is the atmosphere and climate you get from the people in the building. It should only take a few moments to feel it upon entering. Schools either have or they don’t – you can’t fake it. This inviting aura is found not only in the physical characteristic, but also and more importantly from the actions of its staff. At Southern Elementary, we believe in creating and sustaining that kind of “Southern Hospitalityâ€.
