STARS and STARS Summer Kid's Camp, formerly known as the After School Enrichment Program (ASEP) run by the Grinnell-Newburg School District, is now part of the Galaxy Youth Center. When, due to budget issues, the program was not going to be kept, the Galaxy made it a priority to keep the program and offered to take it on as of June 1st, 2009. STARS is held at Davis Elementary which the G-N School District generously lets the program continue to use, and is for students in Kindergarten through 4th grade. The program is open after school until 5:30pm, and in the summer is open from 7:30 - 5:30pm. STARS provides students with a safe, educational environment, where they have the opportunity to engage in a variety of educational and recreational activities and build positive relationships. |

Grinnell Christian Preschool (formerly known as Grinnell Christian Church Preschool) is now being administered by Central Iowa Christian School. The preschool occupies a space at Grinnell Christian Church (1331 Hobart St.). Lisha Marsh is our preschool lead teacher/director and is assisted by Marcie Caldwell. Grinnell Christian Preschool meets the standards and licensing requirements set by the Department of Human Services and the State of Iowa. Our educational program is also accredited by the Iowa Department of Education. Staff members are also licensed in CPR and first aid. |
