Our Before and After School Programs are activity based and support classroom learning, providing help with homework, snacks, arts & crafts, sports, science & music activities. Through these programs children develop academic, socialization, arts, athletic, and communication skills which instill them with the confidence and ability to succeed in their school and community. Programs are tailored to meet each school’s unique requests, and to identify and respond to each child’s needs. A broad range of experience, talent, and skills allow our diverse staff to build programs in collaboration with school staff that respond to changing demo-graphics, backgrounds, and academic levels. Summer Camp is an “all about fun” program that also focuses on preventing “summer slide” (a loss of previous year’s learning) and returning children to the classroom in the fall at their grade level and ready to learn. The program offers a “green” environment with children learning sustainable living practices such as gardening, composting, and recycling. Partial and full Scholarships make these experiences available to children who would not otherwise have them. School Out Days (SOD) offers special activities on those days when school is not in session such as teacher conference days, in-service days, holiday breaks, and spring break. SOD’s are held at one or two school sites accessible to all students. During this time, the children focus on special themes such as arts, sciences, sports, music, and drama. They also take field trips and periodically hear speakers and instructors regarding particular topics of interest.

Fort Collins, CO 80523 | (970) 491-7082
As the laboratory school housed within the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, the ECC serves a three-fold mission of teaching, research, and service. We offer quality programming for young children, train CSU students for careers in the field of early childhood, and provide opportunities for research related to children, families, and early childhood education. The ECC has been serving children and families in the Fort Collins community since 1929 and we are dedicated to working in partnership with families to ensure a quality educational experience for children. In our Reggio-Emilia inspired school, meaningful educational experiences are planned in a caring atmosphere to promote the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of each child. We believe that by encouraging self-expression and curiosity and by supporting the active exploration of the environment, both at home and at school, that children will develop a healthy self-image, a sense of responsibility and helpfulness, and that they will learn problem solving and decision making skills. We invite you to browse through our website and learn more about the Early Childhood Center and our Reggio-Emilia inspired philosophy. You will also find information on our seven classrooms for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years, as well as information about our enrollment processes.

Colorado Preschool Program (CPP) is a program that strives to serve the young children in Colorado who are most vulnerable to starting grade school unprepared. The legislature recognized that providing quality early childhood education would ultimately curb dropout rates, help children achieve their full potential, reduce dependence on public assistance, and decrease susceptibility to criminal activities. CPP provides free high quality preschool to eligible children through participating school districts and partnering community sites. There is no fee for children who qualify. Children are funded to attend preschool for a minimum of 10 hours per week during the school year. Preschool programs meet quality standards and limit class size to sixteen children with adult-to-child ratios of one-to-eight.

“The mission of Fort Collins Montessori School is to provide a classic pre/K-9th grade Montessori program that inspires and empowers children with an exceptional educational experience based on the principles and philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori.” The concepts of the “whole-child”, “mixed-age groupings”, family involvement, and community are integral to this educational approach and will be keystones at Fort Collins Montessori School. These philosophical and educational concepts involve engaging the intellectual, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects of each person in a setting with younger and older students working and learning together in community. At Fort Collins Montessori School children will be given the opportunity to work in a prepared learning environment in which highly trained Montessori guides (teachers) assist each child’s academic and social development. Our school will create an atmosphere in which children are intrinsically motivated, enthusiastic, responsible, committed life-long learners who exhibit an undeniable personal strength in their knowledge of self at each stage of their growth and development.

YPLC TEEN & FUN CAMP

YPLC TEEN & FUN CAMP

Fort Collins, CO 80524 | (970) 482-1212
TeenCamp is designed just for 11-15 year olds. NOBODY does anything like this. We started Teen Camp in 1988 after realizing that 11 and 12 year olds had different interests than 8 year olds and deserved their own program! Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and the school district recognize the difference at age 11. By this age, young teens talk, think, and act differently, and are ready for a program that respects and challenges them. TeenCamp provides fun, safe, challenging, wholesome, age-appropriate activities for 11 – 15 year olds. Integrity, Courtesy and Respect are the cornerstones of how TeenCampers treat each other and the community. Each teen is expected to sign a Code of Conduct. Most of our teens find long term friends who stay in touch throughout the year. In addition, we take the opinions of the teens seriously and allow them to have input into the program whenever possible. Within the limits of time, cost and appropriateness, teens can change the program. No one else in our community offers a program for this age group and no one else could do it like this! TeenCamp typically costs $50 per day or $225 for a full week. There is an additional $10 if you choose to sign up for extended days when we go out for dinner as a group after our trips to Water World and Elitches and $45 in addition to daily charges for the two camping trips. See the registration for a full explanation of charges.
